Parking Solution
Parking is a big issue at Santa Fe College. The best option the school has with the size it is, is to build a parking garage. This solution can reduce traffic issues and make the school's parking problems less of an issue. This issue can cause problems for not only students but other drivers who are not going to the Santa Fe Campus or involved with Santa Fe. But there are several Solutions to this problem that can help reduce this traffic. It is very obvious that there are way more students with cars than there are parking spots for them. This can be seen by students parking on the grass or other spaces that are not actual parking spaces. Building a parking garage will increase parking spaces available for everyone and it would be easy to multiply the number of spaces by simply building up rather than out. The problem with this solution is that chances are that people will be charged for the garage in order to pay for it. Also during it construction there would be even less parking than usual. Or because of the tight spaces acciedents may be more common. BUt there is alot of good things that can go with having a parking garage.
structuring a proposal argument
For my first semester at Santa Fe I noticed that every time I have to go to class that I have to leave my house an hour early just to find parking. I noticed that finding parking is an on going problem that has not been resolved yet, but can be resolved. The problem is that it is an increase of students at Santa Fe Community College so in order to deal with the parking they should add more parking lots or build a parking garage. The benefits of adding a parking garage is that it would be close to classes and you wont have to walk ten minutes just to get to class. It would also be a greater variety of different spaces near your class. Overall I feel that greater parking at Santa Fe would mean greater education, because students can get to class on time and not be late because of parking.
exercise 15.7
The traditional lecture method of education has a number of problems. For example, some professors do not give the slower writing students time to finish all of their notes before they move along. Also some students are late for class due to non parking or for personal reasons and miss a lot of those key points needed to past a test.Making a lecture available as podcasts, however, will give students extra study notes just in case they left out something important that would be on the exam. There our three reasons that this teaching method should be adopted. One reason is that if a student missed class or have an emergency they can go to the podcast to get those notes or listen to exactly what was taught that day. Another reason is that some students just do not take good notes. so when its time for a student to study for the exam they can examine the podcast for notes they might have missed. Finally when it come time for mid terms and final exams you can always listen in on the podcast to review and get information. For those reasons I believe that lectures should be available as podcast because it could help students get better grades.
Structuring a proposal Argument
Being one of the top ten college in
the country and also opening the way for getting into University of Florida
attract lots of students across the states of Florida to the Santa Fe College
every year. However, there is one problem that always irritates the students of
this college. Parking spot! There is no enough parking spots for students car
all the time, so students either going to be late for their classes because
they have to go around and around of the campus to find a parking spot, or they
have to come at least 30 minutes early to find somewhere suitable and close to
their classrooms. Expanding the bus system from Santa Fe College to different
location of city of Gainesville would help this problem to go away, and has
lots of benefits for students. So far making the bus free for students helps a
lot. Lot of students who have been driving their cars to college now are able
to ride for free and do not be worried for finding a parking spot before their
classes. By riding the buses, students who have late classes do not need to be worried
about walking to their far parked car alone. Finally, Students can save money
on their gas by riding buses for going to school. Some students complain about
waiting for bus for a long time, however, this problem would be solved by expanding
the number of buses and bus lines. For the conclusion, riding buses help
students to save money, be on time for their classes and not being worried
about finding a parking spot, and being safe and secure by riding public
transportation.
Structuring a proposal argument.
Parking is always an issue that no one would like to deal with, but with being students at Santa Fe College, this problem seems to be one of our greatest issues while on campus. With an increasing rate of students that drive to campus and are enrolled comes the issue of the limited parking spaces that are available. This is a problem because many students are being held up from class or becoming aggravated that they may have to put into perspective the idea of not driving to class at all. Because of this issue, Santa Fe College should consider building a new parking lot area to help accompany the growing amount of students that are choosing to drive to campus. With this plan coming into action, many students will be able to arrive to class on time without coming thirty minutes or more before class, and traffic will be heavily reduced. Though this proposal may cost the school extra money, it will be beneficial to both students and the campus in the end. Taken all into effect, parking should be the least of an extremely busy students worries. Making extra parking available will help more that it could ever hurt.
Exercise 15.7
The traditional lecture method of education
has a number of problems. For example, students have to be present in the class
in order to get the full lectures, the lectures could not repeat for students
who need to listen to the lecture more than one time in the class. In addition,
being present is crucial for the professors, so if something happens for
professors and he/she cannot make it to class students would miss one complete
section which makes professor to do a makeup section for students, and not to
mention that makeup sections are always hard to be arranged. Making lectures available
as podcasts, however, is a beneficial and productive teaching method for both
students and professors. There are three reasons that this teaching method
should be adapted. One reason is that freshman students or students who need to
listen to lectures more than once would be able to do that. Another reason is
being present at class would not be crucial so students with full time jobs now
would be able to listen to the lecture combined with the power point slides of
courses and create the atmosphere of their classroom for themselves. Finally,
listening to an audio version of a lecture as well as seeing the respected
power point help students to stay alert and do not lose their attention like
when it happens when only the power point slides are being run. For these
reasons, I believe podcasts should be adapted in Universities and colleges.
They are easy accessible, they give the chance of repetition to students, and
students and professors could catch up with class by just listening to them when
they cannot be present at the actual classrooms.
