exercise 15.7
The traditional lecture method of education has a number of problems. For example, some professors do not give the slower writing students time to finish all of their notes before they move along. Also some students are late for class due to non parking or for personal reasons and miss a lot of those key points needed to past a test.Making a lecture available as podcasts, however, will give students extra study notes just in case they left out something important that would be on the exam. There our three reasons that this teaching method should be adopted. One reason is that if a student missed class or have an emergency they can go to the podcast to get those notes or listen to exactly what was taught that day. Another reason is that some students just do not take good notes. so when its time for a student to study for the exam they can examine the podcast for notes they might have missed. Finally when it come time for mid terms and final exams you can always listen in on the podcast to review and get information. For those reasons I believe that lectures should be available as podcast because it could help students get better grades.

I could not agree more. So often things happen that hold a student from getting to class whether it as a family emergency, missing an alarm or even an appointment. You cannot make up what happens in class and a fellow students notes aren't going to entirely help. The lecture that is accessable online would help the students that missed it or simply didn't understand. This way they can watch again and get back the information they didn't understand.
ReplyDeleteVery great point, especially with the new age of technology, it only makes sense to go about better education this way. Unforeseen events occur and we cannot control those, but we can control educational methods to accommodate the changes in our society.
