Have you ever been stuck in traffic
so slow that people are walking past you?
That’s what comes to my mind when
I think of “rush hour chicago” traffic.
This image relates to anyone who has experienced terrible traffic. The kind of traffic that feels pointless to
be on the road, which is exactly what the advertisement was attempting to
convey. The question at the bottom “WHAT’S
THE RUSH?” is there too flip the I do need to enjoy life more switch on. I assume the company that made the advertisement’s
message is why waste your time in traffic when you could be enjoying a few
drinks with friends, for most people this would be considered Logos.
Someone might also respond to the
image in an emotional manner depending on their prior history with
drinking. Maybe someone that has had alcohol
poisoning or they have just been very sick off of whiskey in the past so they no
longer drink it. What about someone that has received a DUI in the past or that
has been hit by a drunk driver they may have a very negative reaction to the
image. On the positive side it may stir
up a few good memories with a few friends you haven’t seen in a while, these
responses would be considered pathos.
