Bound to buy
While reading this article my face began to light up because I could see myself fitting into some of the category of shoppers that were being described. Even though I could probably fit in almost all of them, nothing described me more than the "Illogical Rationalizer." I must admit, I am a sucker for a good sale, especially when it comes to one of my favorite name brand clothing stores. Whenever I see the words "buy one get one" or "SALE" my heart starts to flutter and I automatically start to think that I am going to end up with a good deal. This category also fits me because I am one of those shoppers that is willing to buy the more expensive product just because of the quality and that there is a chance that it will last much longer or work better. Some of my purchases that fit into this category just so happens to be shoes. I am a shoe fanatic! when it comes to my shoes, more specifically my high heels and pumps, there really isn't a limit to what I will spend. I'd rather buy a higher end shoe because of the quality and because they are more comfortable than cheaper pairs. But don't get me wrong, if I find a pair of good looking shoes for a steal, I will get them!

I have a friend who loves catching sales too. Sometimes on the weekend they drive all the way to Atlanta just to go to the outlet malls up there. Sometimes I go along for the ride and end up spending more money than I had planned. So i understand how it can be hard to pass up good deals on shoes or clothes. Once you get on the roll the price dont matter anymore. The only thing that matter is I want it. Haha.
ReplyDeleteI understand a good sale is hard to pass up. Whenever you seen the “SALE” sign or maybe the "buy one get one" signs it makes everything seem like such a great deal. While I cannot relate to you with the number of shoes I also tend just to get the more expensive version of something hoping that it will be better or be better built so it will last longer. And Adrian I think that happens to everyone more often than we would like to admit where we go to a store only expecting to get a few items or something then end up with an entire shopping cart full of impulse buys.
ReplyDeleteHey, there's nothing wrong with spending more money on a good pair of shoes! Cheap heels are just... well, awful. I’m definitely a sucker for BOGO signs or SALE signs. Do you find yourself going to a store because you know there’s a sale already? I don’t usually go out of my way to seek out sales, I think I’m mostly just lucky when it comes to finding good deals. I can remember a number of times where I went to the mall to buy ___ and wandered past another store and saw a sign for a sale and thinking “What luck!”
ReplyDeleteI totally understand how you feel when you see a good sale ! It makes you happy, thinking that your walking away with a steal. When it comes to the quality thing I feel what your saying because sometimes it is better to spend alittle more for something of better vaule. Do you ever regret buying some things on sale? Or buying more expensive things? I really never regret buying something on sale unless it's something that I didn't necessarily like from that start. I think most people end up just purchasing items just because they're on SALE, instead of because they really need them.
