The movie selection that I chose is "Friday". I selected this film because it is a well known comedy with a very high school like conflict. I also chose this film because I grew up watching and am very familiar with it. Two African American males sitting on a porch in south central California dealing with a bully who comes by to steal their things from time to time. They are dealing with life problems that normal people go through in the black community in a comedic way. Craig has just gotten fired from his job and Smokey the other main character is trying to fight against the drug world but in the end he ends up falling back into it. I feel as though this is a good movie to review because of the simple but complex underlying plot. In the end Craig finally stands up to the bully and becomes somewhat of a hero to the entire community because finally someone had the guts to stand up for himself and everyone.
