The movie that I decided to write about is The Blind Side.
Michael Oher, a young homeless boy, was shivering in the cold walking down the street. Soon after, the Tuohy family drove by and Leigh Anne Tuohy notices that a young boy was walking late at night. Leigh Anne told her husband Sean Tuohy to turn around so she can talk to him. She got out the car and learned that Michael was walking to the school gym because it was warmer there. She asked him if he had a place to sleep in and he told her no. Leigh Anne then invited him to stay with her and her family. Michael didn't realize how his life was going to turn completely around after the Tuohy family invited him into their house. The drama of the film The Blind Side will have viewers inspired to do things that will not only change their lives but the lives of others.
The reason why I chose this scene is because this is the beginning of all the great things the happened to Michael and the Tuohy family.
Your film anecdote is perfectly matches with the movie that you choose. As a reader, I can picture this scene in my mind, and it makes me curious to know what is going to happen in the rest of the movie. If you check my anecdote, you can see I was overwhelmed with lots of stuff that was going on my scene, and it was long so instead of attracting the reader it just makes them bored. Anecdote should be short and attractive instead of long and boring. You did a very good job here.
ReplyDeleteI also agree with how well you did. This was a great film and im excited to hear you analyze it. It is definitely inspirational and a true family movie. It was absolutely a tear-jerker and a great choice.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I really appreciate it. I didn't want to overwhelm the readers with the whole story in my anecdote because I thought I would get carried away and ruin it. But thank you.
ReplyDeleteI think you did a great job with not overwhelming the readers. Your writing is very incising and makes me want to watch the film. I have seen the movie and the way you describe it is perfect. I am very excited to read your full analysis as well. I think you truly captured the essence of the film. The Blind Side is a very inspirational and true story. I do think that you could have included that it was a true story just as another angle to pull the audience into what you want them to watch.
