DQ 8 #3

History: A film i liked as a child was called the Thief and the Cobbler though it was thoroughly given mediocre reviews. The reason for the less than positive reviews goes back from its release in 1993 to the begging of its production in 1964. The film was in and out of production for the span of 3 decades. Creator Richard Williams was at one time in direct control of the film and intended it to be his Masterpiece. The film was a bit like Arabian Knights and Alladin once it was released but prior to its release it was of its own creativity. The creator lost creative liberty of his film after it lost funding and it bought by Miramax pictures who added new animation, dubbing and even new characters. The company tried to make the film very "Disney-like". Some of the scenes are uneven cause some are from the 60's and 70's and other were more modern and it is obvious. The film was not well received though the animation style was widely praised. The songs were corny at best and the voice acting was unnatural sounding and looking.
