Harry potters girl trouble week 8

Christine Schoefer evaluates Harry Potter books by saying that the  books are mostly filled with boys and men. She establish that by metioniong most of the girls that are in the book. She speaks about how the girls are just tag alongs. Schoefer identifies that boys and men, wizards and sorcerers are dominating the scenes with action is good because it keep the viewers interested. Scoefer ignores other postive features like fighting is more for men to do when it come to war. So maybe its not that bad that the male characters be the ones on the main line fighting. I think she is unfairly slanting her evidence because so. Scoefer supports her argument by naming all the female characters  and going into detail about their roles as females and explain that the male characters had more focus on them. People make movies how they want to make movies. If they want the female to be in the back ground or vice versa then thats their movie.

  1. Schoefer's article was about how the male characters in the books are seen as the heros while the women are seen as just side-kicks or damsels in distress. Its not about fighting or anything like that, she is just arguing that the women seen to be in a secondary role and never up front and center with attention, like the women are always being saved and never saving anyone.......which is wrong since Hermione has saved both Ron and Harry several times. And Schoeder's article wasn't about the movies it was about the books
