Week 9: Mystic River

Mystic River was a really interesting movie to me. I really like the whole story line and how it makes you think and wonder who really killed Katie. I actually enjoy watching these kinds of movies because I get really into it and makes me feel like I need to help solve the crime. I love how the movie was really trying to confuse the viewers to think that Dave killed Katie when it really was two people who weren't really around and didn't seem like they would do something like that. The message behind the movie is really important in my opinion. It made us realize how people jump into conclusions about things and it can really have some consequences. Jimmy jumped into conclusions by thinking that Dave killed his beloved daughter Katie when in reality he didn't. This movie also showed how when something dramatically happens, your life can go in a different direction. Especially when something happens to someone you really care about and love, you really will try to do anything possible to get revenge. I would definitely recommend people to watch this movie.

  1. I would also recommend for people to watch this movie ! It was so interesting to me and loved how it was written. The message of the movie is very clear! That we should never jump to conclusions and assume things cause there could be dyer consequences. Jimmy did this and ended up murdering one of his childhood friends. Now that he knows the truth of who really killed his daughter Katie, there's nothing he can do to give Dave back his life.

  2. I am agreed with your point of view. All people in case of lost a beloved one wants to get the revenge, and they should trust experts like police agencies and inspectors for doing that. However, Jimmy’s character was independent, powerful, and supposes about police. These specifies made him able to kill a person. One of other messages about this movie was about trust. If Jimmy trusted the police for finding his daughter’s killer, he would not kill an innocent person.
