Mystic River was a very intriguing movie, filled with
interesting twists and turns throughout the movie. For a crime/murder film I
thought the plot line was a little slow but was entertaining. When we first
watched the movie I was confused as to why they showed Dave getting kidnapped.
But as the movie progressed I could see that this event shaped and determined
his life and personality. And not only did it affect Dave's life but also
Sean’s as well. In this film something that struck me, was the fact that most
of the film used dark lighting, which gave most of the film a depressing and
dreary take. And gave us a great contrast to the scenes where the lighting was
lighter giving us a positive look on the film. Another compelling part of the
movie that goes unnoticed most of the time is the music selection. It really
added an enormous effect to the movie. The piano playing in the background added
emotion and drama to each scene. Over the entire movie was great, the acting,
film and story line was entertaining.
