Block 1: PA (63) Questions
-The visual appeared on a controversial advertisement website. The audience is for all citizens across the world that would love to listen about this subject.
-The advertisement shows hostility because this subject is a very sensitive topic and many people have something to say about homelessness and America contributing to that.
-SAMU Social is the organization that created the visual. They are a french organization that provides medical and social help to the homeless and disturbed. They work to reach out to the care of homeless people. They have emergency staff and shelters.
-The visual is addressing the problem of homelessness. It is also stating that the longer you adjust and get used to it they more comfortable you are and more likely to never help yourself or fix it.
-They are against the matter of letting yourself stay homeless. They completely support those that are homeless but they want them to work to help themselves and not just live in pity for themselves but help better them and get them off the streets. I can tell because of their prior works with trying to help the homeless and in this showing them sinking in the grown and doing nothing for themselves. I completely agree. I think the more the homeless people pity themselves and just get used to living and drinking on the streets the easier it will be to just stay there and not help themselves but just make that their permanent situation.
-The visual itself does include words in French. However it does translate to; “The more you live on the streets, the harder it free of it.” Which is completely necessary. The picture itself is strong and a very controversial issue world-wide but with the slogan it is saying that homeless people need to face reality and help themselves get back on their feet. Find a shelter, get a job, and save their donations to better themselves.
-It does not seem to be a refutation. It is fighting against the subject of homelessness but it is just a stance on what SAMU social feels.
-The visual is very clear and convincing. It scares the viewer into thinking help these people help themselves. That the more they are in that environment and living with those struggles the harder it is to get up everyday and hope to get out of that situation. It is really effective and definitely speaks to the reader.
