Questions for Responding to Visual Arguments

In this visual the shot seems to be in a alley or gutter.

The crowd that is being targeted most likely will be a urban African American crowd.

Since bishop is holding a gun on the front of the poster. I think the visual would be for a more hostile audience.

Ernest R Dickerson is the director and writer. Juice is about 4 inner-city teens who get caught up in the pursuit of power and happiness which they refer as ‘the juice’.

When you look at the visual you can tell that everyone on the picture looks as if they have something to prove.

I agree that the poster gives off a feel of four young teens who is in the pursuit of power.

On the front of the cover it says, Power, respect, Juice how far will you go to get it? It makes a point that the characters on the poster are  trying to get power and respect. I think they did a good job at justifying the image.

The visual is making an argument because bishop is in the front holding a gun while the others stand in the back like he is in control.

The poster is convincing on the message that the director wanted.
