I believe this visual was created for a
friendly audience but, I also believe that it can become very controversial to
those whom do not agree with the argument is making.

The visual was created by a random
American person whom I know nothing about except for the fact they know about
pop culture and possess strong opinions for certain subjects.

The issue the visual is addressing is
freedom of speech and those who believe in it only when it is convenient for
them or coincides with their personal beliefs.

The Chick Fil A meme uses visual and
articulate representation to argue that some individuals only support freedom
of speech when it coincides with their personal agenda. I can depict this
position from the details provided within the visual such as the hipster girl
with her head tipped upward and distinct clothing and appearance. I agree with
this position because while I believe of speech no matter the statement, within
our society the public tends to criticize others for what they believe and what
the speak out about.

which says, “Believes in freedom of speech except for when the owner of Chick
Fil A is involved. The words are absolutely necessary; they make the point that
freedom of speech is great unless one does not agree. The visual needs no more
text other than what is written.

attention of an audience as well as getting the message across. It is clear and
interesting because it makes one think about other situations involving freedom
of speech. The visual is convincing because it used a certain type of person to
convey the message.
I was looking forward to seeing your analysis of your meme. :) I wholeheartedly agree that this meme is effective in gaining the audience's attention and that it's more making a point than responding to one. It's kind of satirical in how it presents the college liberal. I find this meme to be pretty effective in how it criticizes hypocritical people who only believe in freedom of speech when it suits their cause.

I am glad you were so interested in this meme. I agree with everything you said. I guess I should have looked up the definition of both a hipster as well as a hippy. I found this whole analysis very interesting. It gave me insight and an understanding of what is happening in our culture and world at the moment. As of now we live in a very superficial society, one that judges mainly on appearance instead of qualifications. The American society tends to be very stereotypical when categorizing people. In this day and age I feel we should be moving away from such a stigma but instead it seems to be the opposite. Again, thanks for your interest and comments, they really helped!
