Week 3: Going "Green" Supporting Evidence

The author of the essay does a great job of supporting his evidence by not only including a works cited list, but referencing the last names of every person he quotes to support his evidence. The multiple body paragraphs both supporting arguments for and refuting arguments against the idea that a green campus provides an exponential benefit to college campuses nation wide is present all over the passage. This shows the strong support the author has included and shows how well educated he is on the subject. The works cited list shows sources that are within the last ten years and are not by any means out dated to the argument. The author also shows an example of how the opposing side does not agree that a green future is beneficial to state colleges and universities. The critic says that becoming environmentally friendly "will result in higher tuition and fees." yet the author counters this by showing a study done at the University of Colorado-Boulder which showed that a 1 dollar increase in student tuition actually suppressed their carbon emissions by 12 million pounds! The overall essay contained many valid points that I, myself agreed with. Global Warming is a current issue in today's society as my generation is stuck with the cleanup of previous generations and the added responsibility with suppressing further carbon emissions into the atmosphere.
