DQ week 5 "Bambi"
Cristol begins his essay by using an example of a disappearing species with no explanation of the reason for its deliverance. The problem he identifies is the shortage of a species of bird called the warblers. He assumes the readers are unaware of this fairly obscure problem. His purpose is to show awareness of a widely unknown problem around the Untied States. In order to accomplish his purpose, he appeal to logos using solid proof to support his claim. He also appeals to pathos using emotion by describing the possible death of a species. Finally he concludes by making the point that there are several ways to stop the problem, but they are costly and time consuming. Overall the argument is effective because it uses hard facts and has no bias.

The way he starts off his essay almost gives you a sense of…….I don’t know suspense I guess. Kind of like making you wonder “oh what has happened to the birds?” Most people would probably not be aware of this problem until someone said something about it like he is now. He appeals to people’s emotions because most people like seeing birds, they’re pretty and all, and they wouldn’t want them to just disappear. All of the examples and statements he makes are pretty much based on straight facts so yea logos and pathos are used in his essay. And it contains no real bias, at least none that I could find I know other people have different views so maybe someone else would consider it biased but I don’t.
