Week 4, Block 2 : Template For Retorical Analysis
Michelle Obama starts her speech by telling about her experiences over the past 4 years and how her families lives have changed. She also describes how she believes in this country and how she has seen many inspirational things such as wounded warriors with missing appendages that vow to walk again by any means. She transitions from her stories of American spirit that amaze her every day to how Barack and her were before he was elected president. This anecdote describes her love for him and how he would pick her up for dates in an old rusted car. It also described how his favorite material possession was a table he found in a dumpster. As she begins to talk about her family she reflects back on her father, and talks about his struggle with multiple sclerosis as she was growing up. Even though he was held back by this disadvantage, he was a proud father who sent his children to college to "get and education that he could only dream of". The topic of parents is still active as she talks about the history of Barack's grandmother and single mom raising him. All of this segues into Baracks political approach with the new Health Care Reform of 2010 and how he believes these hard working parents that are now elderly shouldn't be exhausted financially as they cannot afford their medicines. She concludes her whole entire speech with her attempting to inspire all demographics to attend the polls this year and vote to reelect her husband for president.
