Block 2; Anne Romney Template for Rhetorical Analysis
Ann Romney begins her speech by thanking everyone for being there and letting the crowd know how excited she is to work with everyone there and what they can do together. The problem she identifies love. She says its the problem they share and what brings them together. She assumes everyone their has a spouse, family and children. Her purpose is to reach out to the audience and bring them together. That they know they are not all against each other, they are all people that share love and family and problems. That politics shouldn't bring them apart, but love bring them together. In order to accomplish this purpose, she appeals mainly by bringing up everyday struggles every American deals with. She also appeals to all the women who work hard as wives and mothers and work hard to keep their families and husband together. She addresses her main argument that women work hard to help the children, their husbands and their families. She says she loves her women and how she knows the hard work it takes. She refutes this by stating how women are America and it would not be this country without them. She concludes making the point that everyone in America deals with the struggles but with hard work and love they can make it through. It is effective because she really reaches out to the struggles everyone deals with today. She makes the audience feel as if she is one of them and deals with the same everyday problem.
