The author
clearly states his thesis in the closing sentence of the introductory paragraph
of this essay. His topic sentences are easily identifiable at the beginning of
each paragraph and I felt they were clear and concise. Each topic sentence
clearly indicated the subject of each paragraph. The author went so far as to
go into detail in the third paragraph about the various definitions of what
green means in the college setting as well as in the second paragraph he
explains the green movement. Following three paragraphs to support his argument,
the author included two full paragraphs to discuss and refute the opposing
arguments. He effectively counters each of the oppositional points. The essay
itself read very fluidly. I felt the author did a good job in carefully
selecting his word choices and transitions. His goes into detail explaining
terminology as to avoid any vague language, but does not go so far as to be
awkward and wordy. His concluding
statement was short and to the point. I felt it complimented the tone of the
paper and contrasted well with the rather long thesis statement. Closing the
paper with a challenging statement was definitely a strong statement on his
part.
Well since I don’t want to post the exact same thing here as I did on the other comment but I want to make my discussion post quota :).
ReplyDeleteI am going to suggest you to pick up GW2 I hit level 80 yesterday, I am only 30% complete with the world but it’s really well made and the leveling concepts and raiding ideas are way different than any other MMO I have played to date. The graphics are great the game play is great and with how much effort they put into making it I am sure the updates on end game content should be fun.
I agree that the author clearly stated his position in the concluding statement. He let use know why "Going Green" is important and he really pushed that we should all start greening. Also he did state his topic sentences clearly and made sure you knew his viewpoint on the topic throughout the passage. So I totally agree with your observations from the article.
